Terms of Service

Last updated: August 3, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Nora. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your family's information and is part of these terms.

What Nora is

Nora is an AI voice companion for older adults, with a dashboard for their family. Nora makes and receives phone calls, offers reminders, writes summaries for the family, and sends alerts to people the family chooses. Nora always introduces herself as an AI companion. She never pretends to be a person, a family member, or a clinician.

Nora is not an emergency service

Nora cannot call 911 or any emergency service, and she will say so if asked. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. Alerts to trusted contacts travel over ordinary phone networks and may be delayed or fail. Nora is not a medical alert system, not a monitoring service, and not a substitute for professional care or human supervision.

No medical advice

Nora is not a doctor and does not give medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Reminders and summaries are organizational help, not clinical guidance. Always consult a qualified professional for health decisions.

Your account and your family

  • You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password safe.
  • Setting up Nora for a loved one requires their agreement. You confirm that you have talked with them, that they are comfortable with Nora calling, and that you have the authority to make these choices with them.
  • You choose who joins the care circle and who is a trusted contact, and you are responsible for having permission to add their phone numbers and email addresses.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no unlawful use, no harassment, no attempts to break or probe our systems, no reselling, and no using Nora to contact people who have asked not to be contacted.

Calls and text messages

By providing phone numbers, you consent to receiving calls and texts from your family's Nora number at those numbers. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts, START to resume them, or HELP for help. Alert calls may continue while someone remains a trusted contact; removing them from the circle stops those calls.

Plans, trials, and billing

  • Nora is a paid subscription with the plans shown on our pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • New accounts start with a 14-day trial. A payment card is required to start, and billing begins when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
  • Subscriptions renew each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel, change plans, or update payment details from Settings at any time; changes take effect at the end of the current period unless we tell you otherwise.
  • If we change prices, existing subscribers receive advance notice before a new price applies to them.
  • Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are not refunded for partial periods.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, including how conversation notes work and the fact that Nora never makes audio recordings.

Nora's service and your content

We own the service, its software, and its branding. You own your family's information, and you give us the limited permission we need to operate the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve Nora.

Disclaimers

Nora is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. Nora is an AI system: she can mishear, misunderstand, or make mistakes, and calls depend on phone networks we do not control. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for claims arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Ending the service

You can delete the account at any time from Settings; deletion has a 72-hour cancellation window and is described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end accounts for serious or repeated violations of these terms or for nonpayment, and where reasonably possible we will give you the chance to export your information first.

Changes to these terms

If we make meaningful changes, we will notify account holders by email or in the dashboard before they take effect. Continuing to use Nora after that means you accept the updated terms.
